Visual Art & Children's Environmental Education
A study shows a fact concerning about animals and children younger than 6 years old indicates that more than 90% of their dreams are related to animals (Acuff, 1997; Patterson, 2000). A relation of children to animals requires that with live animals, stories on animals, animal’s picture and other experiences must be promoted. Development of sentimental-unanimity relations with the natural world is a fundamental basis for subsequent stages of environmental education (Sobel, 2008). Childhood is a basic period to shape and learn environmental views (Basile, 2000). Proper application of pictorial arts is a necessity for environmental learning perception for children. Indirect, incidental and observational learning are considered the most stable and efficient learning and since imitation and assimilation is one of most important learning methods in children, these wall paintings may provide some behavioral patterns to them.
